About our lamb:

Primal lamb is raised the old school way, as nature intended. Our sheep eat native grasses all year on our sunny Southern California farm.

grass fed whole lamb

The Dorper breed produces a much more mild and sweet flavor than traditional lamb or mutton, and a much more palatable flavor than their grain-fed counterparts. Unlike most lamb, this meat is not gamey. You can expect tender and juicy meat, with high quality nutritious fat.

Primal lamb is:

  • Grass Fed
  • Grass Finished
  • Pasture Raised
  • True Free Range
  • Grain Free
  • Antibiotic Free
  • Hormone Free
  • Beyond Organic
  • Naturally Weaned
  • Sustainably Farmed
  • Humanely Treated

How to order:

The process begins with a deposit. Once we receive your deposit, we will contact you within one week to confirm receipt and answer any questions you may have.

Next, your lamb will be weighed, packed and prepared for you. Once a final packaged weight is determined, we will send you an invoice for the remaining balance.

Once the final balance is received, we will contact you to schedule your delivery or pickup date. On average, the entire process from deposit to meat in your freezer is typically 6-8 weeks.

Note: $100 of the original deposit is non-refundable.

  • $300 deposit
  • 6-8 week process
  • Total balance due is determined by weight of animal
  • Free delivery to Southern California

What to expect:

You can expect an average of 40-60lbs of meat, depending on the size of the animal available when you order. A whole lamb will typically require 2 cubic feet of space your freezer.

All the meat will arrive fully frozen and individually packaged in the following cuts:

  • Leg of lamb
  • Stew meat
  • Loin chops
  • Riblets
  • Shanks
  • Neck
  • Ground lamb
  • Bones for stock

Below is an example of a typical cut sheet. Because the final weight on every animal is different, the following weights and packs are not guaranteed, but intended to serve as an example:

Average savings:

While many bulk animal programs set prices by the weight of the live animal or hanging weight (and promote a lower price per pound), we only charge you for the meat you’re receiving, so the price per pound is always accurate and reflects what you’re actually putting in your freezer.
