Most "pasture-raised" chicken at the grocery store isn't what it sounds like. The label doesn't require birds to spend real time outdoors, and it says nothing about what they're fed. At Primal Pastures, we built our entire system around closing that gap — here's exactly what makes our chicken different.
Our Chickens Live Outside, 24/7
While the vast majority of chickens in the U.S., including most "free-range" and organic birds, spend nearly their entire lives indoors, ours don't. Our chickens live outdoors on open pasture around the clock, every day of their lives.

Daily Pasture Rotation Means No Vaccines, No Antibiotics
Every day, our flocks move to fresh ground in floorless mobile coops. That daily rotation gives them constant access to fresh forage, clean bedding, and fresh air — and it's the reason we've never used a single vaccine, antibiotic, or drug across more than 200,000 birds raised.
Regenerative, Not Just Sustainable
We don't aim for "sustainable" — we go further. Our rotational system returns manure to the land where it belongs, giving pastures time to rest, rebuild organic matter, and improve their water retention for the next growing season. It's a system that actually improves the land over time.
Clean, Corn & Soy Free Feed
Our pastures are 100% organic, non-GMO, and never sprayed with chemicals. Supplemental feed is certified organic and completely free of corn, soy, and seed oils, so what our birds eat matches how they live. (See the ingredients).
More Nutrient-Dense Chicken
Because our birds spend their lives outside on pasture eating a clean, natural diet, our chicken tests higher in Vitamins A, B, D, and E, roughly 3x higher in Omega-3s, and lower in saturated fat than conventional chicken.
Don't just take our word for it, inspect what you expect.
