The steak everyone knows and few do right. Ribeye comes from the upper rib section and is prized for its rich marbling and bold, beef-forward flavor. Ours is grass-fed and grass-finished, which means every bite stays juicy without feeling heavy. The fat melts as it cooks, delivering depth, tenderness, and that unmistakable steakhouse experience at home. Season simply. Cook hot. Let the beef speak for itself.

Our beef meets a standard 99% of farms can't. 100% grass-fed and grass-finished, California beef. Corn-free. Soy-free. No antibiotics, no hormones, no steroids. Raised on regenerative pasture, the way cattle were meant to live.

As a PA, I started this farm because I couldn't find meat I trusted for my own family. This is it, raised the way I was looking for all those years ago

Why It's Different

Most "grass-fed" beef is still grain-finished in feedlots. Ours isn't.

01

Grass Fed & Grass Finished

Our cattle graze on open pasture from birth to harvest — no feedlots, no grain finishing, no exceptions. A lifetime on grass means richer flavor, better fat profiles, and beef that actually earns the label.

Primal: open pasture, grass only, corn-free, soy-free
Conventional: "grass-fed" label, grain-finished in feedlots
02

No Vaccines or Antibiotics

Healthy animals raised the right way don't need pharmaceutical interventions. Our cattle are never given antibiotics, hormones, or steroids — not once, not ever. Because that's what "clean" actually means.

Primal: no antibiotics, steroids, or growth hormones
Conventional: routine pharmaceuticals to maximize feedlot yield
03

No Chemicals on Pasture

Our cattle graze on land free from chemical fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides. Healthy soil grows healthy grass. Healthy grass raises healthy beef. We believe less inputs = better outputs.

Primal: regenerative pasture, sunlight, rainfall, nature
Conventional: chemically treated land, confined feeding operations

Beef raised right.

Our cattle spend their entire lives on open pasture: no feedlots, no grain finishing, no corn, no soy. Ever. A lifetime on grass means beef with better fat profiles, richer flavor, and a nutrient density you can actually taste.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • It means our cattle eat grass from birth to harvest, no exceptions. Grass-fed alone is an unregulated label that allows animals to be grain-finished in feedlots after a period on pasture. Grass-finished closes that loophole. Our cattle spend their entire lives on open pasture, eating what their digestive systems were built to process: grass, herbs, and forage.

  • All orders ship frozen with dry ice and insulated packaging to arrive in perfect condition. We ship Monday-Wednesday to avoid weekend delays. Orders placed after Wednesday will ship the following week.

  • Most "premium" beef at the grocery store is grain-finished, meaning cattle spend their final months in feedlots eating corn and soy to add weight fast. Even many organic brands grain-finish. Our cattle live on open pasture their entire lives. Less than 0.01% of American beef can make that claim.

  • Research consistently shows that grass-finished beef is higher in omega-3 fatty acids, CLA, and fat-soluble vitamins like A and E compared to grain-finished beef. The nutrient profile reflects the diet, cattle eating diverse pasture grasses and forage produce meat with a meaningfully different nutritional composition.

  • Due to order volume and changing inventory, we are unable to hold shipments. Of course, if there is an emergency please reach out to info@primalpastures.com and we will do our best to help.

  • Yes. Grass-finished beef has a cleaner, more complex flavor with a firmer texture than grain-finished beef. The fat profile is also different — higher in omega-3s and CLA (conjugated linoleic acid), lower in inflammatory omega-6s. Some people notice it's leaner than what they're used to. Lower heat and slightly shorter cook times go a long way.

  • Grass-finished beef is leaner than grain-finished, which means it cooks faster. A few tips: bring it to room temperature before cooking, use medium to medium-high heat rather than screaming hot, and pull it a few degrees before your target temperature, it will continue cooking as it rests. For steaks, a generous rest (5-10 minutes) makes a real difference.
