It’s time to ditch the refined seed and vegetable oils and experience what cooking with Rendered Pork Fat is all about. This product is already rendered, so you open the container and it's ready to use. It is 100% pure with zero additional ingredients and cooked in small batches to ensure perfection in every container.

Rendering is the process where animal fat is cooked slowly at low temperatures until liquified and is then separated from any impurities or solid pieces. When done correctly, this process becomes a semi-solid white fat that is relatively neutral in flavor. Rendered pork fat is called lard and rendered cow fat (or other ruminant animals) is called tallow.

Lard and tallow are excellent alternatives for baking and cooking compared to other oils because they have one of the highest smoke points, not to mention the high vitamin D content.

All of our pork products come from Clear Creek Farms in Spalding, Nebraska. They are pasture raised and given no antibiotics or hormones.  They eat a soy free natural omnivore diet of certified organic local and seasonal fruits, nuts, vegetables, GMO free grains and barley that has been soaked and sprouted in whey. This by far the best hog available.

Want to render your own pork lard? We have Raw Pasture Raised Pork Fat for Lard available here.

An everyday go-to

After learning more about the importance of animal fats and EHA/DHA for brain development, I’ve been using lard instead of olive oil or butter quite often. Gives a great flavor and texture for sautees and baked goods, and packs a nutritional punch. Big fan!
