ABOUT OUR PORK

All of our pork comes from our farm or from Clear Creek Farm in Spalding, Nebraska. They are raised free range, outside, and given no antibiotics or hormones. They eat a natural omnivore diet of local and seasonal fruits, nuts, vegetables, and certified organic, soy/GMO free grains. Absolutely zero antibiotics, hormones, vaccines or drugs.

Thanksgiving Dinner for Two!

We're having the Smoked Ham Steak for our Thanksgiving dinner! We are soooo looking forward to it. Just right for a feast for two. And we expect to have plenty for some great leftover meals!

Fit for Royalty

There are ham steaks, and then there are Ham Steaks! A tad over two inches thick, lean, tender, juicy, perfectly smoked. And the taste is nonpareil. I cut one in two (on one side of the bone section), and grilled one half – served up with grilled butternut squash and grilled asparagus. For the other half, I lightly scored both surfaces (about 1/32-inch deep at about 1.5-inch intervals in a diamond pattern), and braised it in a mixture of butter and maple syrup. I served this with easy-over eggs (also from Primal Pastures – best eggs evuh! – please bring back the 60-pack!), and homemade hash browns. Both meals were fantastic. My dear wife is the household’s royal epicurean critic, and she agrees that now we need to create more space in our freezer! Kudos, Primal Pastures, for another wonderful product!
